Cardinal Key will hold its annual auction at 5:30 Monday in the cafeteria.
All proceeds from the auction will be divided between Perkins Library and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Cardinal Key receives no money from the auction.
The items up for auction include a German dinner with the Reinkordts, a golf outing and dinner, a cruise on Pappy Khouri’s sailboat, a finals week care package prepared by President Brown and gift certificates for various Crete businesses.
Vice-President Abby Soterin said that Cardinal Key has also received a large number of cash donations from Doane faculty and staff.
President Jonathan Hoke, senior, said that the members of Cardinal Key have worked very hard to put on this year’s auction. He also said that the donations from staff, faculty and Crete businesses have been very generous.
“The faculty, staff and Crete businesses have treated us more than well,” Hoke said.
Hoke said that every year Cardinal Key sets a goal of more than $1,000 for the auction. Last year the auction raised over $1,400, making it one of the largest auctions in Cardinal Key history.
Cardinal Key accepts cash or personal checks on the night of the auction. Students also have the option of signing a promissory note to pay for their purchase at a later date. If payment is not received by that date, Cardinal Key will add the bill to the student’s account. Multiple students can combine their funds to bid on an item.
